Stay in the Center of Chicago’s Best Dog-Friendly Experiences

Location matters when traveling with your dog, and Fairmont Chicago places you within walking distance of many of the Windy City’s most popular green spaces. Start your morning with a leisurely stroll through Grant Park, often referred to as Chicago’s front yard. Wide pathways, beautifully landscaped gardens and open green spaces make it an ideal place for your pup to stretch their legs while you enjoy spectacular views of the city’s iconic skyline.

For dogs with extra energy to burn, Lakeshore East Dog Park is just a short walk from the hotel. This fully enclosed off-leash park allows dogs to socialize, play and run freely before heading back to the comfort of your guest room.

Enjoy Chicago’s Beautiful Lakefront

One of Chicago’s greatest treasures is its 18-mile Lakefront Trail, where visitors can walk, jog or simply enjoy fresh air alongside Lake Michigan.

Just minutes from Fairmont Chicago, this scenic pathway offers endless opportunities for memorable walks with your dog. Watch sailboats drift across the water, admire public art installations and take in panoramic views of one of America’s most recognizable skylines.

Whether it’s an early morning stroll or an evening adventure, few cities offer such an impressive urban waterfront experience.

See Chicago from the Water on a Dog-Friendly River Cruise

After exploring the city’s parks and trails, experience Chicago from an entirely new perspective aboard one of the city’s dog-friendly architecture cruises. Several operators welcome leashed dogs on select sightseeing cruises, allowing you and your canine companion to glide along the Chicago River while taking in the city’s world-famous architecture and skyline views.

It’s a memorable way to experience the city together, combining Chicago’s iconic riverfront with an activity that’s just as enjoyable for your pup as it is for you. Be sure to check individual cruise policies and reserve in advance, especially during the busy summer season.
